The long and storied history of Northern Lights Digital Imaging began in 1976 in two humble, yet cheap, rooms on Montgomery Street in San Francisco. Starting with one small process camera and a passel of donated equipment, we filled a niche in the graphic arts community as a stat house.
Expanding rapidly to three rooms, we added a larger process camera and moved to slightly less cheap basement space on Leidesdorff Street for the next five years. In 1982, it was time to move again, this time to Gold Alley where we grew to a staff of 10, filling the needs of graphic designers, printers and marketing departments with our array of services. The vicissitudes of time, not to mention the digital era, brought tremendous changes to Northern Lights as well as a mountain of debt. As the cameras gave way to computers, our services changed, but not our philosophy (as opposed to our Mission statement) – over the top customer service.
Whatever your printing needs, from large run offset, shorter run digital printing on our Nexpress, economical Fiery printing, large format inkjet printing and mounting, or color transfers, we continue to fill that niche. Our last five years finds us on Seventh Street in San Francisco’s trendy SOMA district but we humbly remain, at your service.
